The Heartbeat Detector® is an advanced enclosed space detection system developed by the United States Department of Energy and Oak Ridge National Lab to provide quick, accurate, easy, and portable human presence detection in vehicles of any size, including fully loaded tractor-trailers.
By sensing heartbeat vibrations, the system can identify live individuals even when concealed, motionless, or hidden within confined spaces—making it a powerful solution for security, inspection, and screening applications.

Trust but Verify with Checkpoint Live™
Checkpoint Live™ is a new remote monitoring feature in the Heartbeat Detector that gives security leaders real-time visibility into vehicle screening operations from virtually anywhere.
Through the Heartbeat Detector portal, authorized administrators monitor tests as they happen across individual or multiple screening locations. Supervisors and lead agents can oversee remote checkpoints, verify that personnel follow established screening procedures and review test results without traveling to each location.
Checkpoint Live also delivers configurable SMS alerts for designated test results. Administrators select which results require attention and identify personnel who should receive notifications. The system then flags priority results and alerts the appropriate personnel, reducing the need for supervisors to continuously watch screening activity while keeping them connected to events that warrant attention.
