GERI successfully designed, manufactured and deployed the world’s largest permanent deep water seismic recording system for BP in the North Sea Valhall Field. That GeoRes system includes 120 km of armored cable, houses 2,504 sensor stations, and covers 45 sq. km of seafloor. The system has completed its fourth reservoir survey, and in each survey it has performed as designed. BP now believes that this reservoir monitoring project will enable the company to recover an additional 60 million barrels of oil from the Valhall Field.
In the U.S. Gulf of Mexico, we deployed a pilot reservoir monitoring solution over a Shell field in 1,000 meters of water. Leveraging knowledge and experience gained from these projects, we continue to build significant competitive advantage for ourselves in future reservoir monitoring projects.
